KEEP YOUR FLY LINE SLICK AND CLEAN
The AgentX Line Dressing is specifically formulated to enhance the performance of all modern fly lines. Treated lines will cast farther, remain clean longer and float higher than untreated lines. RIO’s proprietary AgentX formulation features lubricants used in the new AgentX lines that will keep the line slick and clean longer than competitors’ dressings. Easy to apply with a soft cloth. Allow 30 minutes or so to dry before buffing off.

The Avid is the lowest priced RIO line, which is equipped with the AgentX and XS-Technology.
AgentXTraditionally, getting a fly line to float has required mixing tiny glass balls (called microspheres) into the lines coating. After years of experimentation RIO have developed a unique element which is six times more buoyant than those used by other fly line manufacturers. This process is called „Fusion Technology”. By simultaneously processing this super-buoyant undercoating with an ultra-smooth outer coating the results are the smoothest, most durable and highest floating fly lines imaginable.

Die Avid ist etwas schwerer als die AFTMA-Klassen, wodurch sie besonders für moderne, schnelle Ruten geeignet ist.
Verarbeitete RIO-Technologien
Die Avid ist die preisgünstigste RIO Schnur, die bereits über AgentX und XS-Technologie verfügt.
AgentXUm Fliegenschüre schwimmfähig zu machen werden traditionellerweise gasgefüllte Glasperlen (sog. microspheres) in das Coating einer Schnur gemischt. Nach jahrelangen Experimenten ist es RIO gelungen ein Element zu entwickeln, das sechsmal mehr Auftriebskraft hat als jenes, das von den Mitbewerbern verwendet wird. Es war aber noch ein weiter Weg um dieses Element in den Herstellungsprozess der Schnüre zu integrieren. Mit der sogenannten Fusion Technology wird super schwimmendes Untercoating mit ultraglattem Außencoating verbunden. Das Ergebnis sind die glattesten, haltbarsten und höchst schwimmenden Schnüre, die man sich vorstellen kann.
XS (Extreme Slickness)Fliegenfischer sind immer auf der Suche nach einer glatten Schnur. Glatte Schnüre bieten neben weiteren Würfen eine Vielzahl von weiteren Vorteilen für den Fischer. In den Labors von RIO wurden die verschiedensten Materialzusammenstellungen erprobt, bis es nach vielen Experimenten, sowohl im Labor als auch in der Praxis, das Geheimnis der XS-Technologie gefunden war. Das Ergebnis sind Schnüre, deren Oberfläche fühlbar glatter ist. In der Praxis führt dies zur besseren Schnurkontrolle, weniger Verschleiß, Verschmutzung und Reibungswiderstand in den Ringen. Und für uns als Fliegenfischer zu weiteren Würfen.
Welded LoopsDurch RIO’s Pionierleistung wurde ein bahnbrechendes Verfahren zum Verschmelzen der Schnurenden zu Schlaufen entwickelt. Mit Schlaufen versehene Schnurspitzen schwimmen besser und ermöglichen ein schnelles Wechseln von Vorfächern. Es werden beinahe alle Schnüre (den Hinweis entnehmen Sie bitte dem jeweiligen Schnur-Diagramm) mit den Welded Loops geliefert.

Bonefish Fly Line
The demands of bonefishing require a balance of long and short casts with precise presentation. RIO’s Bonefish line does just that, starting with a medium-length front taper to improve turnover without sacrificing presentation, and a slightly longer back taper to smooth out the casting loop. The tropical AgentX coating combined with a Powerflex single-strand monofilament core and the new Extreme Slickness (XS) Technology results in longer casts and a line that will not wilt in most extreme tropical conditions. XS (Extreme Slickness)The RIO test laboratories carried out extensive practical experiments and material combinations, until they discovered the secret behind the XS Technology. The result is a generation of fly lines with a slicker surface. On the water this leads to longer and more accurate casts, less abrasion, less dirt attraction and an overall better performance.
Welded LoopsRIO pioneered / originated the innovative welded loop technique. Welded loop fly line tips float better and enable a rapid change of leader. Almost all RIO fly lines are supplied with these small welded loops, please see the appropriate line diagram for information.
